Everyone loves fun in the sun at the beach. Little ones enjoy digging in the sand and older ones enjoy the waves. Whether tanning or splashing in the water, it’s a great place to relax. Those who are inquisitive will enjoy exploring the sea and tide pools as well as collecting driftwood. Warm breezes and all the natural beauty of the coast are both invigorating and restorative. However, if you haven’t taken the time to pre-plan your trip, you’re not going to have as much fun.

In many areas of the world, people head out in the family car to the beach. However, it’s wise to take a few minutes and clean out the car prior to the trip to ensure that there is plenty of room for all of the luggage and an emergency kit. Keep in mind that you’ll want to take along some sun block, acetaminophen, antacids, cough drops and even some bandages to ensure a fun and safe trip. Remember that you’ll also want some ponytail holders as well (these can be used for other purposes besides hair). Check your tires, get the oil changes and prepare the car for the road trip because you never know what lies ahead. Don’t forget a good map either, this can be invaluable on your trip.

When you’re traveling with kids, it’s always an adventure. Kids may be so excited that you can’t get them to settle down. Keep water bottles and healthy snacks handy for the kids to help pass the time. Teach them some fun road trip games like finding all the letters of the alphabet or a license plate from every state of the nation. This will help to occupy them and keep them in good spirits.

When you travel to the beach, be sure that you bring along things to protect the skin from the sun’s harsh rays. Remember that the hazardous times are from 10 am to 4 pm and plan to use plenty of sunscreens and the like to keep skin protected. N one wants to start out the vacation with a horrible sunburn. Wear long sleeves, bring thin towels and shake them out often and keep your sunglasses on to help protect from the sun. Don’t’ forget your flip flops, sand can get hot and burn the feet.

With some preparation, you can have the best trip ever. You’ll have a great time and enjoy your trip and arrive back home all refreshed. Take the time to get back a little early so that you’re not rushed. Do a load of laundry and kick back and relax. Have something easy for dinner so that you begin your work week all refreshed.
